The project Metz-Kokkola was probably the best project I've been participating in! It was very fun when the students from Metz came here and it was SO WONDERFUL when we were there! I love the french culture, and the nature over there was so beautiful compared to our Finland! :D And the weather was lovley, and very worm! :) Everything about the trip was great! All the things we saw and everything we got to experience! I loved the day in Paris, and the trip to Verdun was very interesting because I'm interested in historical things. All the evenings with the students were also great! I will defenetly go back one day! It would be so nice for us all to meet each other again maybe in the future! Because our penfriends were so adoreable! And I think we all did a great job to fix everything, the french group, the finnish group and of course the teachers! More projects like theese! Thanks for this lovley project!

Hello!

The trip to France and Metz was a really good experience and i have only positives thoughts about it.

It was very exciting to come to Metz, and to meet the family that would be your "own" for a week. A fewthings was different between the Finnish and the French culture so it was nice to try something new. We visited their school, Lycee Fabert and it was really beautiful. Much, much bigger than our school :P We were on a sight-seeing in Metz also and it´s a beautiful city with lots of old buildings.

We had a really full program when we were there, and we really got the best out of everything and used the time. One memory that i will bear in mind was the trip to Paris, which has been one of my dreams since I was little. We visited the Eiffel Tower and it was scary but amazing to go to the top. We saw also Champs Elysée and many other intresting things. The trip to Verdun vas also intresting and you got a better view of how much people had suffered during the war.

I got a really good connection with my family and I think that everybody had a good time, at least I had and it was very sad to leave all our French friends when we left Mets after a week. I´d really like to go back to France and to Metz and I am grateful that i got this oppertunity!

Hi!
I really liked this project! Metz is a beautiful city and the french students were really nice! I had a great time in France with my french penfriend and it was nice to spend time with other young people from another country. We went to Paris, Verdun, Luxemburg and Metz of course. We saw a big city, a little bit of french history and how normal people live their normal lives, with school, work and dinner. Paris was really great, I will for sure go to there again! We were only there for one day, and that is not enough for such a big city. But it was great to see and understand how beautiful Paris is, with the eiffeltower, Champs Elysée and so much more. The food in France was really good! I didn´t really know what french food is, but it was simply awesome! mm.. I love french food, and the boys! The football players in Fc Metz were great! (oh-la-la). I think that the project was a good experience and I made a lot of new friends! I don´t speak french, but I learned some useful sentences and after this project would I really like to study more, it is a beautiful language and useful. The weather in France was great, to come from cold Finland to a warm lovely country was great.. My hostfamily was great, they took me to a lovely restaurant and we had a great time there! I really want to come back to France, Paris and Metz.. I miss everyone and it would be great to see them again. I will come back for sure!
Thank you,
Ada

The trip to Metz was relly good, i really enjoyed staying there. The country was so much different from what im used to, with all its hills and the warmer weather. I only had a few problems, like getting used to the food (no cooked potatoes...), and i got a cold (again. i also got one when they came to finland, aparently they make me ill :P).

But i really enjoyed beeing to Metz and see all the things this city bigger than kokkola had to offer, and it was a lot. First the school, a lot bigger than our school (didnt get lost). I suppose the lessons would have been interesting, if the biology teacher had spoken english... but anyway, great school.

And all the trips we made, they were very educational (and fun). I think i learned a lot from them. The trip to Verdun was very interesting, and so was the trip to the synagog and the museum (maybe slightly boring). The trip to Paris was also very good, i have never been that far away before. Although i was completely paranoid of pickpockets most of the time, but i could still enjoy most of the things Paris had to offer.

I think everyone of the students were very nice to us, and the evening activities they arranged for us were so much fun! Go-carts, lasershooting, amusement park, very fun! maybe not so very educational, but anyway.

I would like to go another time to France, but one week away from school really piles up some work. Other thing to say would be that the family was really nice and there were no big problems in communication.

Was good trip!

I think the kokkola-Metz project was great:)
I think we had a nice time with the french students when they were in Kokkola. The most exciting part for me( and the other finnish students too I suppose)was anyway our time in France.
I was really looking forward to the trip and it was exciting to come to France and meet our penfriends and their families.
In the bus on our way to Metz I could do nothing but admire the beautiful nature of Germany and France. I expected Metz to be beautiful but I had no idea of how beautiful the surroundings would be. It really felt like summer with all the green trees and flowers and the lovely warm weather:D When we got to see the city i was impressed! I reallly liked the old houses, the river, the parks and the enormous cathedral. I thougt the city-sightseeing with the small train was nice, even if people laughed at us:)
It was interesting to visit the school Lycee Fabert. The lesson I went on was not very different from our lessons in Finland. Many other things, like the schoolbuildings and the food were anyhow very different.
The trip to Verdun was both interesting a instructive. It´s easier to understand what happened when you see the different places instead of just read about them.
The day in Paris was great:) I´ve heard so much about the city and now I got the oppertunity to actually experience it! We had too little time but we got to see and do a lot anyway:)
It was nice that we got the oppertunity to see some french football on saturday night, I really enjoyed it:)
My hostfamily was great. I´m really thankful that they showed so much hospitality and took the time to show me different things:)
I didn´t think we´d be able to see and do so much in less than a week! It was a wonderful time!!

Hey there!
I also really enjoyed our visit to Metz. Everything worked out so perfectly during our stay in France. It was great to finally see how you live there. The day in Paris was something great! I can´t resist smiling when I remember our groop in Paris. There is just one word : TOURISTS. :) But nothing wrong with that. One thing I also very enjoyed was the day in Verdun, it felt good to learn a little bit more about the war. The picnic by the lake one day wasn´t that bad either. I just want to say thank you to all our pen-friends for making this wonderful expierience come true. Thank you for everything you did for us! You are more precious than gold! I hope we will get a chance to meet again :) take care! /Linda Tylli

The memories I still have from our visit in Metz I think that I'm going to remember for a very long time! The trip to Metz was an experience by itself. It was really exiting and everything was just so beautiful!we drove trough Germany and it was quite different from Finland. When we finally came to Metz I were really tierd but you couldn't fall asleep because you still had to meet the family. It turned out that my penfriend had a very nice family who really took care of me.I even had a room of my own! I really hope that I will meet my penfriend and her family again.
When we were there we had the possibility to get to know the city and our penfriends school better. I liked everything because it was so different from what I am jused to. Everyone was so friendly and the city was much bigger than Kokkola. There were a lot of cathedrals and big buildings that we havn't got here in Finland.
They had also planned a lot for us to do. we were to Verdun one day with a guide who told us about the war. We were eating out a couple of times and it was nice to get to know what kind of food they were eating. Then we were at a footballgame and at an attractionpark. The day we had in Paris was also great!of course I could have been there a bit longer but.. at least we saw the most famous things that you have heard and dreamt about.
To get to know the french culture and to learn how to live in a real french family was great. you got so close to everyone and everything so it was hard to say goodbye. But i'm still wery thankfull that I had the oppertunity. I hope that everyone liked this exchange as much as I did! thanks for everything!

Looking back at the project, I think it was really good. I think it is great how we made new contacts with the French people. It’s always nice to have foreign friends. Trough that we stayed at our pen friends homes, we had a great opportunity to get to know the French culture and the everyday life. I guess that our friends in France can say the same thing about Finland :).
Eventough France is quite near, the manners and culture are different from what we are used to, and we had the great opportunity to get a closer look at it. The school, WOW, it was a lot bigger than ours, and so beautiful with the old halls and etc.
In France our schedule was quite busy, nevertheless really good. We visited different places from the city of Verdun to Paris and from a museum to a football stadium. I especially enjoyed the trip to Paris, since we had the possibility to visit the Eiffel tower and the triumph arc. I and my friends went also to the cathedral of Notre Dame and Louvre, these two places I had never been before. I didn’t know that you can see so many places in less than one week :). Our evenings together were really nice, from the first night with the supper in the restaurant to the last night when the whole group went bowling alley, including the teachers! I had so much fun!
Thank you so much for everything!

We did also visit different cities and places in France like Verdun and Paris. The visit to Verdun and the fort was very interesting. There you could see how the soldiers had lived during the battle. I had looked forward to the visit to Paris for a long time so it was really nice to be there and to see the Eiffel tower and other famous places in Paris.
The family I lived with was also great. They really made me feel welcome and it would be nice to see them again someday.
The projekt was so well organized and I had so much fun. Thank you so much!

I also think the Metz project was great! Everything was very exiting when we arrived to Lycee Fabert, and to move in with your penfriend and see how they live, and what kind of parents and friends they had.
During the trip we visited all kinds of history places and differents events, and their school and churches, and different resturants.
The best trip was probably when we went to Paris, and to the Eiffeltower. It was my first time in Paris so everything was exiting and fun! And on the same day we also went to a football game, and me and Ina enjoyed it very much! It was also fun to get to know your penfriends better. It was a really fun trip and I recommend these kinds of projects. And a big thank you to the french students/teachers for organizing everything so well.

Bonjour! Here's a short presentation of our Metz-project; our lovely week in Metz. Having arrived at the airport in Germany, we were happy to notice that the spring was already in the air, with green trees and chirping birds. I admit that the first evening was very exciting, what would "my family" be like? Fortunately my temporary home turned out to be just the right for me, I enjoyed every day there a lot. On Wednesday we visited Lycee Fabert, facing some differences between this school ond ours, concerning eg. the architecture, discipline and amount of pupils. In the evening we had a dinner together with the whole group. On Thursday we made a daytrip to Verdun, where we were introduced to the occurrences during the First World War. It's impossible to imagine what reality was like by then. We spent the evening in the house of Céline, watching movies and talking.
The following day we saw the synagogue, Metz Museum and after enjoying a baguette in a parc we visited FC Metz. In the evening, believe it or not, I ate frog legs! I also tasted a cheese, so strong that it's told that one's feet start smelling after eating it! However, my feet didn't suffer from it, neither did I, but maybe my friends?;D On Saturday we took the TGV to Paris were we spent a most lovely day, watching the city from above in the Eiffel tower, wasting money along Champs-Elyssees and acquainting ourselves with the monuments seen from Les Vedettes, small tourist boats on the river. In the evening I had a late dinner with my family in an Italian restaurant. On Sunday we were in Walygator, an amusement parc, and in the evening I suddenly realized that this was the end om my sejour here! After the night I was mentally prepared to say good-bye, but it was very, very sad to leave the persons with whom I had spent my memorable week, especially my family. The contact had been very intensive, and, yet, this was maybe the first and last time I saw them. It was indeed a week full of experiences, and a very good lesson in French culture. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

When we first arrived with the bus to Metz, I saw that this city was totally different compared to Kokkola and we noticed that the city was far more crowded than Kokkola. The city was wery cool because of the houses which seemed to be wery old and there were many braes and hills and in the city.

We did a lot on our visit to France. We drove carting, went to see a football game and visited the local amusement park, visited Paris and went to see some awesome historical places etc. It was clear that they had worked hard to get us enjoy our visit.

The project Metz was a great project and i´m wery delighted, I got to participate on it. It was an opportunity for us to meet other youths from another culture.

Hello !

So the Metz-Karleby exchange project was a verry good experience.
It was so exiting when the students from france came to visit us. The week in Finland went fast and soon there after we where heading to France. It where so exiting to finaly meet my pennfriends family.
It was verry beautiful in Metz whit all the fine buildings and a big cathedral.
We hadd pretty much program the hole week but for me the trip to Paris where one of the highlights during the hole trip.
And on the free time we allso did plenty off stuff whit ouer pennfriends, we where driving microcars and playing some kind of laser game, where we shot eachothers whit laserguns. The teams where Finland vs. France(Finland won).
But all in all the hole exchange project where so much fun that i would do it again any time.

Heeellooo!

The Metz-Kokkola project thing was and is the best project I´ve ever been on. When the dudes first time came to Kokkola then I think everybody was nervous of meeting his/her penndude. Me and ma homie Seb had good vibrations from the first beginning so it was much easier to communicate. The trip to Metz/france was one of the best holidays I`ve ever been on. The best part of the holiday was our trip to Paris. It had everything that u might expect but we didn`t have so much time so that was a bit booring. We had a lot of activities in Metz with our dudes. Carting and some sort of lasershootingactionubermacho thing was quite nice. The amusementpark was a bit booring and lame, but all in all the trip was great, the dudes were great and food didn`t suck.I would like to go back anytime again.

I remember this project as an opportunity to experience the everyday life in a different country and culture, and though France isn't that far away from Finland, life there is in many ways different.

I think I got learned to know my pennfriend pretty well, and others of the French group as well, though everybody were really nervous at the beginning. But as time passed, did everybody get along with everyone. We had some interesting discussion and many funny moments. Though I have to say that those French guys had a pretty childish humour.

I noticed the cultural differents when it time for our group to visit Metz. The way people meeted each other and all those kisses and handshakes were odd for a Finn. And the respect children had for their parents was cool.
The food in France is great. Bread with ham is the best thing I ever tasted.

We did all kinds of things in Metz: Carting, bowling, amusement park, lasershooting, hangin' around, underground hiphop-concert, eating, eating, eating, toilets etc. etc. etc.

Visiting Paris was a lot of fun and one of the best things we did. Eiffel Tower was amazing. Sadly I run out of money at the time so I couldn't buy any expensive stuff.

I will remember this project all my life, and I recommend it for everyone.

Peace and respect.

Hello!
The metz-kokkola project was really fun!
First the students from france visited finland. It was very fun, and interesting to have a student from france in my home. We learned a lot from eachother. In Finland we visited our swimming centre and went to the forest. I really enjoyed showing our country to our visitors.
I had a great time in france! I really loved the weather and the climate! I had a great family. In france we visited paris. It was very fun!
Thank you for a lovely project!

Hi!

I really enjoyed the project. I connected instantly with my host. Emmeline was really nice and her whole family was really symphatic.
The cultural differences could be seen immediately. In Metz, some wore prada and other wore secondhand fleemarket stuff..

The trip to Paris was exciting, we got to see a lot, though a lot was left unseen..
But perhaps an other visit to the city could clear that up.

Though Paris was really a great experience, the most fun was when we went lazershooting. We got a chance to get to know the group better which was really fun.

I am glad for getting the chance to participate in the project. It taught me a lot about the french culture and our own. I would gladly do it all again

Yo!

I think that the project was awesome! First the dudes from France visited us and we had a lot of fun here. Then we went to France and the few days we spent there were great!

One day we visited Paris and it was nice, it's impossible to see the whole city in one day but we managed to see a lot.

In Metz we were in their school which is many times bigger than ours. One evening we went to watch when Fc Metz played, the match was good and the feeling was great because Metz won the game. And after the match we ran to the field which was awesome.

We had a lot to do while we were in France. Trip to Verdun, go-carts, lasershooting game, amusement park and bowling. We didn't have time to sleep so after the trip everybody was quite tired.

I didnt have any trouble to communicate with Charlie or his family because they were so great.

Thanks to both schools, teachers and students for this project.

Hi!
The project Metz-Kokkola was really nice! I still have many good memories from the trip and it´s one year ago.

When we arrived in Germany and drove to France I was fascinated by the beautiful landscapes. When we came to Metz I was even more fascinated when I saw the old buildings and the cosy allies. We don´t have anything like that in Kokkola. Also the forrest picnic in Verdun was really nice and different from Kokkola.

The trip to Paris was also really nice! To see all those enormous buildings from the boattrip on Seine was unforgettable although it rained.

The family I lived in was great and they made me feel like home. They made great food, especially Raclette was really nice.

I enjoined every minute of the trip and I hope I´ll get the chance to visit France again some time.

I just realized that i had written my comment on wrong place, so I republice it here...

About the trip in France;

Well, I don't speak France so i was quite nervous before the trip, but everything went smoothly and nice (if you don't count that my e-mail didn't work and phone was most the time non connected). The host family was really nice and hospitable. I enjoyed the whole week! (Well afterwards i felt a little guilty because of my behavior of eating too much cheese, it was their cheese from switzerland [or Austria...])

So if somebody from the host family reads this I want to say "Domo Arigato Go Shaimasu!!" (Thank you very much in japanese)

It was really intresting to see and learn about France as it really is. It is a really beautiful land! And I think this trip gave a inside view that I think you can't have as a tourists, staying at hotels and just looking at broshyres! The most interesting in France was the people, ordinary French men and women, who have that Beautiful and facinating land as their home.

But it was allso exiting and intresting to be in Paris, Verdun, Eiffeltower, the Metz Cathedral, the Metz museum, the Synagogue, the lazer game place and see the French school! I enjoyed every second in France! I love history, and France was a land with a rich historical legacy!
Thanx a lot for this unique experience!
